WHAT IS THE BIBLE?
The Bible is a message from God to the fallen man. In it, God is calling us to have fellowship with Him. But how it is possible for me, the sinner, to come close to the holy God? In the Bible, God reveals to us the plan of salvation, which He prepared in order to reconcile us. That’s why we believe that there is no power that can change God’s word. As Jesus said, “Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter shall pass away from the law” (Matthew 5:18), for “no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:20).
“The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul. It is sure, making wise the simple. It is right, rejoicing the heart. It is pure, enlightening the eyes” (Psalm 19:7,8).
“The word of God is a lamp to our feet” (Psalm 119:105).
In the Bible we have “a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15).
Jesus commanded us, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you” (Matthew 28:19,20).
That's why God was and still is watching over His word, that it may save and heal every one who believes it. But He also gave us the freedom to choose by saying, "I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse, so choose life." (Deut. 30:19) Man can believe the truth or what is false because God gave him the freedom to choose. But he is not able to change God's word, for if he did that would mean that man is greater than God. For this reason, Christ says, "Until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter shall pass away from the Law." (Matthew 5:18)
My discussion with Moslems always comes to the point where they say that we have changed our Bible: "This is not the original Bible, but where is the original Bible that we may believe it?" And "why was the enemy not able to change or steal the Koran from the hands of the Moslems?" But how can they ask these questions when the Koran says, " There is none that can alter the words (and decrees) of God" (Sure Cattel 6:34 ) And the Bible is Gods word.
Dear friend, read with me what is written in the Koran: ”And Allah will teach him (Christ) the Book and Wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel." This shows that the Torah was true in the time of Jesus”. (Sure Omran 3:49)
”And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Torah that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Torah that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah.” (Sure Tabel 5: 45) How can they say that God was unable to protect the Bible when He gave it to us as light to the world?
"If thou wert in doubt (Mohammed) as to what We have revealed unto thee (the Koran) then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee (the Bible) the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt." (Jonah 10:94). Here it is shown that Mohammed was doubtful of what he called revelation from God, then God told him to go and ask those who had the book before him "namely the Jews and the Christians." Why is it that God told him to take a look at a false Bible that had been changed? Remember the word of Jesus that heaven and earth shall pass away but not God’s word. Therefore what the Koran states is true: there is no one who can alter the word of God. Further, we all know that:
God anointed Jesus with the Holy Spirit to give sight to the blind, and to raise the dead, He helped Him to live a holy life without sin, and even at the end death could not hold Him for God raised Him up. How come that God was not able to keep the gospel of Jesus Christ, since He gave it to the world as light and guidance. Where is God's power to keep the Gospel? He was not able to keep it as He promised. Satan can blind your eyes to the truth but he cannot destroy the truth.
Dear friend, God sent His angel Gabriel to testify that Christ the Saviour is born to save us from our sins and bring us back to God by His sacrificial death on the cross, and after He finished everything Jesus said: "If anyone adds to this Bible, God shall add to him the plagues which are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book, God shall take away his part from His book." (Revelation 22:18)
Is it possible that after 600 years, that same God would send the same angel Gabriel in order to give Mohammed a totally different revelation than what’s written in the Bible? Saying Christ didn't die at the cross, but the cross is the foundation of the Christian faith. Is it for you clear, that we have to choose between these two books, because one of them is true and the other one is false?
Finally then, "woe to those who write the Book with their own hands, and then say: 'This is from Allah,' to traffic with it for miserable price!- Woe to them for what their hands do write, and for the gain they make thereby" (Sure the Cow 2:179)
May God shine in your heart, that you may believe the truth for Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through me." (John 14:6)
