Islam is very liberal in this matter. ......

What we have said above was about accepting Islam, coming into the fold of Islam. We have made it very clear that no one can be forcefully brought into the fold of Islam; Islam cannot be imposed on any person or society. )
Once a person enters into the fold of Islam, the rules change. ...... The punishment prescribed by the shari'a for apostacy is death.
Fatwas On Children Fasting

("An-Nisa: for, by and about Muslim women"
Children - According to Quran and Sunnah..... A child is ordered to pray when he reaches the age of seven, and beat them to do so at the age of ten, and it becomes obligatory upon him when he reaches puberty.
And puberty is determined by:
1) Excretion of sperm due to (sexual) arousing;
2) Appearance of pubic hair around the private parts;
3) Having wet dreams, if sperm is excreted;
4) Reaching the age of fifteen years.
And similar is the case for a female, in addition to her coming on her menses. The source for the aforementioned is what Imaam Ahmad and Abu Daawood have related on the authority of the Prophet (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam): ((Order your children to pray at seven and beat them to pray at ten, and separate them from each other in bed)).

.....
. Discipline a child who is seven or older and intentionally neglects salat. Stronger measures may be used at age 10, as it is your responsibility to ensure obedience in your child.
. Install the fear of Allah, s.w.t., in your children. But first you must fear Allah, s.w.t., in your heart and actions.

Growing to Love the Hejab
Girls will not automatically put on hejab if they were never encouraged and taught to do so! Umm Amatullah has some hints on helping your daughter.
The Prophet of Allah (s) said, "Command your children to pray when they become seven years old, and beat them for it (prayer) when they become ten years old; and arrange their beds (to sleep) separately." (Sunan of Abu-Dawood, Hadith 495, Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As).
This hadeeth is to guide us in teaching our children to pray, that is, when they are seven years old you get them to pray so that when they reach the age of puberty (approximately at 10 years old) the prayer becomes an integral part of their life.
Waarom zijn moslims niet gewoon wat eerlijker over Islam naar de niet-moslims toe?
