Indringer wilde Queen Elizabeth doden, blijkt uit huiveringwekkende video

Afbeelding

Mijn naam was Jaswant Singh Chail, mijn naam is Darth Jones.”

How England’s dying industrial towns became the West’s largest jihad factory

Malik Faisal Akram had no known affiliation with jihadist groups. Ideas that led him to take hostages in a Texas synagogue seeped into his mind almost by osmosis.

Fire washed over Khan’s one summer night in 1992, unleashed by the swelling mob of young people who had swept up Balaclava Street in England’s Blackburn town to lay siege to the café. The exact story of that riot, like that of most riots, is opaque. In some tellings, it erupted because of a post-cricket match brawl in which ethnic Punjabi Muslims beat up an ethnic Gujarati Muslim; others allude to forbidden love between a Gujarati girl and a Punjabi boy; still others that it had something to do with gangs.

As investigators in two continents now work to piece together what led 44-year-old Malik Faisal Akram to travel across the Atlantic to take hostages at a synagogue in Texas, US, the story of the riot in his home town helps understand how England’s dying industrial towns turned into the West’s largest jihad factory.

Fourteen hundred United Kingdom citizens, almost all second- and third-generation immigrants, are estimated to have served with the Islamic State alone; “British fighters have been found on almost every jihadist battlefield since Afghanistan in the 1970s,” scholar Raffaello Pantucci has recorded.

The making of the English jihad

The year after the Blackburn riot, a then-unfamiliar preacher from Pakistan arrived at the town’s Jamia Masjid, the centre of its mainly Punjabi-Pakistani community, on a winding tour which led him through London’s east end and Lancashire’s mouldering industrial towns. The exact circumstances under which the Jaish-e-Mohammed chief, Masood Azhar Alvi, was granted a visa are unclear; it’s improbable that the British intelligence in Islamabad had heard nothing of him.

In any case, Azhar left no one in doubt about his intentions. “The youth should prepare for jihad without any delay,” one tape of his speeches from that tour records. “They should get jihadist training from wherever they can. We are also ready to offer our services.”

“The story of Masood Azhar’s trip to Britain does not fit the narrative promoted by Muslim community leaders and security experts alike,” a British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) documentary noted. “According to them, the spread of jihadist ideology in Britain had nothing to do with the UK’s mainly South Asian mosques. The source of all the trouble, they say, was a bunch of Arab Islamist exiles.”

From the end of the Afghan jihad in 1979, large numbers of Arab jihadists had indeed made London their home, under the benign gaze of its intelligence services. The view among British intelligence may have been, given the Cold War context, that having these jihadists in London gave the United Kingdom useful leverage in West Asia and Pakistan.

Even more important, likely, was the idea that mosque leadership and political Islam would help control an increasingly alienated second-generation immigrant cohort.

The rise of ‘Londonistan’

French intelligence officials, weary of arguing with their British counterparts on the dangers growing up across the English Channel, coined a wry nickname for the city on the Thames: “Londonistan”. There was, however, method in the apparent madness. In the late 1970s—the time Akram’s generation was growing up—race-riots exploded across England, centred around unemployed youth, in the industrial cities where Pakistani immigrants had arrived as mill workers in the 1950s.

The riots—first Indian Muslims and Pakistani Muslims fighting each other, then Whites fighting both, and all joining together to fight the police—sparked fears that the surging White Nationalist movement and immigrant rage could spark off a race-war.

British authorities responded by seeking to engage immigrant leadership. In the case of Bangladeshi and Pakistani immigrants, successive governments reached out to so-called community leaders—often clerics in mosques, and individuals linked to extremist Muslim groups like the Jamaat-e-Islami.

“Government engaged primarily with extremists,” scholar Michael Whine has noted. “This was a consequence of its failure to understand Islamist strategies. The Mosques and Imams National Advisory Board, and the ‘roadshow’ are still dominated by Islamists.”

In the 1990s, a new generation of radicals emerging from the mosques rebelled against these brokers by arguing there could be no justice in a secular-democratic order. The new Islamist cells often represented themselves as a virtuous, yet masculine, counterpoise to gang culture. Indeed, some parents supported their children participating, hoping it would keep them off the streets.

Kenan Malik, a British scholar, noted in a 2011 essay that young British Muslims found themselves “detached from both the religious traditions of their parents, which they often reject, and the wider secular society that insists on viewing them simply as Muslims. A few are drawn inevitably to extremist Islamist groups where they discover a sense of identity and of belonging”.

Chickens come home to roost

From his pulpit at the Four Feathers Club, Umar Mahmoud preached to Richard Reid, the ‘shoebomber’ who attempted to blow up a transatlantic flight in 2003, and 9/11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui. Bosnian jihad veteran Mustafa Kamel—a Brighton-trained civil engineer, and one-time nightclub bouncer—sent volunteers to Yemen. The bombing of the Indian Army’s headquarters in Srinagar in December 2000; the 2010 plot to mark the anniversary of 9/11: these involved elements linked to London-based Omar Bakri Muhammad.

England seemed to bring about an almost magical ideological metamorphosis: London School of Economics student Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh became a Jaish-e-Mohammed killer; Dhiren Barot, son of an affluent Gujarati Hindu family, into a Kashmir jihadist al-Qaeda bomb-plot operative; Siddhartha Dhar into the Islamic State’s murderous ‘Jihad Sid’.

Attacks like the London bombings of 7/7, which claimed 56 lives, have been preempted due to better policing and intelligence. There is, however, a steady flow of individual jihadists, like Akram: Roshonara Choudhry stabbed British Member of Parliament Stephen Timms; Michael Adebolajo, who hacked to death a British soldier on the streets of southeast London.

Like them, Akram had no known affiliation with jihadist groups, either online or physically. He was religious—serving at a local mosque, and volunteering, like millions of others, with the pietist Tablighi Jamaat—but his activities never attracted the attention of the United Kingdom’s intelligence services. The ideas that led him to take four people hostage in Texas seem to have seeped into his mind almost, as it were, by osmosis.

An English apartheid

Ever since 7/7 London bombings, the United Kingdom has sought to address its jihad problem, cracking down on terrorism suspects, and in parallel spending millions marketing purportedly moderate, anti-jihadist forms of Islam. The gains from this project are, however, unclear. In a 2006 survey, six of every 100 British Muslims were reported to support the 7/7 bombing; the following year, 25 per cent said the terrorist attack was a government plot.

Worse, British cities remain profoundly ghettoised. In a 2016 government report, Louise Casey revealed that the “people of Pakistani and Bangladeshi ethnicity tend to live in more residentially segregated communities than other ethnic minority groups”. Fifty percent of school-age children from these communities, she found, studied in institutions where the majority of students were from the same ethnic groups.

“This is the question of our time,” author Salman Rushdie asked, “how does a fractured community of multiple cultures decide what values it must share in order to cohere?” Akram’s story is, in the final analysis, a parable of what happens when communities come to define themselves by their differences, and identity congeals into hatred.

'Abandon Linton-on-Ouse asylum centre plan', urges Conservative MP

Plans to transform a former airbase in a quiet village into an open asylum centre for 1,500 men aged between 18 and 40 should be dropped, an MP told residents today.

Kevin Hollinrake, Conservative MP for Thirsk and Malton, said the Home Office should find 'somewhere more suitable' as its plans for the former RAF base, at Linton-on-Ouse, near York, went against its own guidelines.

Mr Hollinrake said: "There are huge concerns around this. These are young men aged 18 to 40 and it is going to change the whole nature of the village. It is simply unfair, it is simply wrong and it has to be stopped."

There are about 1,000 residents in the small village and at a public meeting on Saturday afternoon they spoke of their fears and anger regarding the plan.

Villagers queued down the street to attend the meeting in the small village hall.

One woman told the meeting she had not been sleeping because she was so anxious for her safety and asked if other women in the village felt the same.

Police and councillors told residents they had only found out about the plan last week.

Zoe Metcalfe, North Yorkshire's Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner, told residents: "Your safety is my priority," as she said she would try to get the force extra resources to deal with concerns over security in the village.

The plan was announced last week as part of a series of immigration measures but both residents and local officials claimed there had been no consultation.

Initially, 500 single male asylum seekers, mainly from countries such as Eritrea, Syria, Iran and Iraq, will be housed in Linton while their asylum applications are processed.

A spokesman for the Home Office said: "The asylum reception centre at Linton, North Yorkshire, is one of our many sites which will provide safe and self-sufficient accommodation for asylum seekers including provisions for healthcare, faith and other activities.

"Services onsite will minimise the impact on those provided to the local community.

“Anyone accommodated at Linton will have undergone a robust screening process, and the Home Office is committed to working closely with the local community to ensure the site operates safely and securely.”

Ncuti Gatwa: BBC names actor as next Doctor Who star

Gatwa said being given the role was "a true honour"

Actor Ncuti Gatwa will take over from Jodie Whittaker as the star of Doctor Who, the BBC has announced.
The 29-year-old will become the 14th Time Lord on the popular science fiction show, and the first non-white performer to play the lead role.
Scottish actor Gatwa, who was born in Rwanda, is best known for starring in Netflix's sitcom Sex Edcation.
He told BBC News: "It feels really amazing. It's a true honour. This role is an institution and it's so iconic."

Speaking on the red carpet before Sunday's Bafta TV Awards, where he is nominated for Sex Education, Gatwa said the role of the Doctor "means a lot to so many people, including myself".
He added: "I feel very grateful to have had the baton handed over and I'm going to try to do my best."

Gatwa will make his debut as the Time Lord in 2023.
Showrunner Russell T Davies said Gatwa had impressed him in a "blazing" audition.
"It was our last audition. It was our very last one," the writer and producer said. "We thought we had someone, and then in he came and stole it.
"I'm properly, properly thrilled. It's going to be a blazing future."

The Queer As Folk and It's A Sin creator, who is returning to Doctor Who after departing in 2009, posted a selfie with Gatwa on the Baftas red carpet.
The actor is nominated for the Bafta for best male performance in a comedy programme for the third year in a row for playing Eric in Sex Education.
As well as being nominated, Gatwa will also present an award at Sunday's ceremony.
He has already won a Scottish Bafta and a Rose d'Or Award for Sex Education.
Ncuti Gatwa is a very shrewd choice for the role. He's incredibly popular with viewers in their late teens and 20s, thanks to Sex Education on Netflix. He has more than 2.5 million Instagram followers, and that's likely to shoot up even further after today's announcement.

Doctor Who, like so many programmes, is eager to win back some of those younger viewers, so the sheer interest from someone like him being involved is going to help with that.

That's not to put aside the fact he's an exceptionally gifted young actor. He's absolutely brilliant. He's been nominated for the Bafta for all three series of Sex Education, so he's not just been cast because of what he can demographically bring in.

It's a double bonus because he can bring in that demographic and in theory give a fantastic performance as the Doctor.
Gatwa said he was "definitely going to do my own thing" with the role rather than modelling himself on any previous Doctor.

In a statement, he added that the prospect of working with Davies was "a dream come true".
He said: "His writing is dynamic, exciting, incredibly intelligent and fizzing with danger - an actor's metaphorical playground. The entire team have been so welcoming and truly give their hearts to the show.
"And so as much as it's daunting, I'm aware I'm joining a really supportive family. Unlike the Doctor, I may only have one heart but I am giving it all to this show."

'Talent and energy'

BBC chief content officer Charlotte Moore said: "Ncuti has an incredible dynamism, he's a striking and fearless young actor whose talent and energy will set the world alight and take Doctor Who on extraordinary adventures under Russell T Davies' new era."

Others welcoming Gatwa's appointment included Sex Education co-star Aimee Lou Wood, who said on the Baftas red carpet: "Obviously it's just the best news in the world ever and he deserves it more than anyone."
Olly Alexander, who starred in It's A Sin and who was himself among those tipped for the Tardis, wrote on Twitter that it was "amazing" news.
Scotland's Culture Secretary Angus Robertson congratulated Gatwa, writing: "Great to see success of this young Scottish acting talent and graduate of Royal Conservatoire of Scotland."

Doctor Who author and podcaster Juno Dawson said it was "perfect, perfect casting".

"The proof is in the pudding" zoals ze in Engeland zeggen.

End of the line? Vintage train journeys at risk as coal supply fails

Heritage railways, which make millions for UK economy, axe services as mines close and Russian sources are ruled out

Britain’s heritage railways are running out of steam. Or, to be more precise, coal. Vintage rail operators across the country have warned that their stocks are now dangerously low and the prospects of replacing them in the near future look bleak.

Many of the UK’s heritage rail companies say they are already having to cut services just as they prepare for the Easter break, when their main operating seasons begin. “It is a very serious problem,” said Paul Lewin, of Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways.
“UK coal for steam trains has now gone and our next supply source was to be Russia, which is now off the table for totally understandable reasons. We are in a very tricky position.”

This view was shared by Steve Oates, chief executive of the Heritage Railway Association. “The situation is very serious,” he said.
“Our coal stocks are running out fast and the search is on to find alternative sources from overseas. However, there is no obvious source for the right quality of coal that we require and prices are fluctuating all over the place. So yes, we are having severe difficulties.”
The UK has more than 150 heritage rail companies covering 560 miles of track that runs between 460 stations. These vintage rail operators range from the hugely successful Jacobite steam trains that operate on Network Rail track from Fort William and Mallaig in Scotland to tiny, privately owned narrow-gauge lines that are sometimes only a mile or two in length. Many used to serve now defunct mines or linked isolated towns in spectacularly remote regions and have become major tourist attractions.

“These lines play a big role in UK tourism today so any threat to them is a real worry,” added Chris Austin, secretary of the all-party parliamentary group on heritage railways.
“They are worth about half a billion pounds a year to the national economy – mainly through the visitors they attract to a region.
“Millions of tourists take trips on these lines every year. In addition the bigger heritage railways provide both employment and apprenticeship schemes.”

An example of the value of heritage lines to a region is provided by Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, whose steam trains – which run from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog and from Caernarfon to Porthmadog – attract around 200,000 visitors a year, generating an estimated £25m for the local economy.

A knife-wielding teenager has been jailed after he repeatedly stabbed a man during a ferocious attempted murder outside a mosque.

Sheffield Crown Court heard on May 27 how Mohammed Shabaz, aged 19, targeted and repeatedly stabbed Zeeshan Ali near the Markazi Jamia Masjid mosque, on Industry Road, at Darnall, Sheffield, where the victim had been heading for prayers.

The Recorder of Sheffield, Judge Jeremy Richardson QC, said the victim Zeeshan Ali had previously been acquitted of the murder of a cousin of the defendant called Ahsan Khan which had left Mohammed Shabaz’s family “incensed” and the defendant took the law into his own hands.

Judge Richardson told Shabaz: “I have little doubt that you and your family and you were incensed by the outcome of that trial.
"Justice, however, takes its course. No one has the right to take the law – as they perceive it to be – into their own hands.”
He added: “It is plain to me that a plan was hatched for Zeeshan Ali to be killed.”
Judge Richardson conceded that given Shabaz’s age he did not believe the defendant had been the “architect” of the plan but he had “executed” the plan.

Shabaz drove to Sheffield and lay in wait outside the mosque as Zeeshan Ali arrived for prayers, according to Judge Richardson.
He said: “As Zeeshan Ali was walking towards the mosque, just off Industry Road, in Darnall, Sheffield, you – masked as you were – ferociously attacked him with that knife.
"He suffered six wounds to his body. Two of which penetrated to an extremely deep level.
"His lung was punctured by the knife. His spleen was punctured by the knife. Major blood vessels in his leg were also severed and other injuries of a severe character were inflicted upon him by that knife. He very nearly died.”

The court heard if it had not been for the quick response of people and paramedics at the mosque and surgeons at Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital, Mr Ali would have died.

Shabaz was injured and left a trail of blood on the knife and in the car which linked him to the offence despite his efforts to torch the vehicle, according to Judge Richardson.

Judge Richardson said the attack and Shabaz’s attempt to escape justice was all captured on CCTV footage.

Shabaz, of Manchester Road, Oldham, who lived with his parents and worked at his father's business, was found guilty by a trial jury of attempted murder and possessing a knife in a public place after the attack happened on January 30, 2021.

Defence barrister Anand Beharrylal QC said Shabaz who has no previous convictions and is of previous good character could not have thought up this plan.

Judge Richardson told Shabaz: “Although I accept you were not the architect of this catastrophe. You certainly executed it. You were the young man who brutally attacked Zeeshan Ali.”

He sentenced Shabaz to 21 years of detention in a Young Offender Institution and stipulated that when he is deemed old enough he will be transferred to a prison to serve the remainder of his sentence.
https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/crime/kn ... ld-3712583

Judge Richardson told Shebaz: “I appreciate very much that your life – young though you are – is now ruined. Utterly ruined.”

Countryside crime rise linked to cost-of-living crisis

Rural crime claims payouts between January and March were over 40% higher than in 2021, insurer NFU Mutual says.

It warned rising food prices could see livestock thefts increase further and contaminated meat enter the food chain.

The NFU wants the government to launch a national taskforce to deal with rural crime.
The NFU Mutual report warns that an increase in rustling - which saw an estimated £2.4m worth of farm animals stolen in 2021 - could see animals slaughtered in unhygienic conditions and sold on, threatening food security, animal welfare and people's health.

"The knowledge that determined thieves are scouring the countryside looking for targets, and returning to carry out night-time raids can lead to sleepless nights for people in remote areas."

Oxford Street chaos as shops looted, Ferrari jumped on and police assaulted in wild scenes in Central London

Central London was a scene of chaos on Friday evening as crowds of youths ran riot through the busy Oxford Circus area looting shops, fighting, jumping on luxury cars, and assaulting police officers. Met Police have confirmed that several people have been arrested as a result of the disorder which they were called to just before 6pm on August 12.

Videos being shared online show crowds of youths running around the roads in the area, at one point several boys jumping on to the back of a red Ferrari supercar as it tries to make its way down the street. Later on a number of people could be seen pouring out of an American Candy Shop on Oxford Street with armfuls of apparently stolen goods.

Police later confirmed that several groups were going around shops stealing a number of different items. Police could also be seen trying to tame the crowd, with several police vans visible in the area and a helicopter overhead as at least one youth was arrested in the street by officers while the crowd watched on.

The Met confirmed a Section 60 order and Section 35 Dispersal Order are now in place for the area around Oxford Circus to prevent any further flare ups of disorder. A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 17:53hrs to Oxford Circus W1 to a group of youths gathering and concerns around a fight.

"Officers responded. Several pockets of youths are reported to have entered a number of shops and stolen various items. Several arrests have been made for theft and assault on police. Police continue work to disperse them. A Section 60 and Section 35 Dispersal Order are in place. The National Police Air Service provided assistance."

The scenes, which have ben going viral in a series of TikTok videos, have shocked Londoners. Writing on Twitter, Shohaib said: "What's all this I'm hearing about central London link ups. All this about Oxford Street, Ferraris, people stealing from those [American] sweet shops and police vans. Bro wtf is happening."

Beyond this, Britain looks forward to running out of water and electricity. Infrastructure projects that could have alleviated these problems have been bandied around and frustrated for decades, and little can be done to turn this around on short notice. Yet equally, there is limited planning now for the threats in future decades. They say the best time to plant a tree was ten years ago, and the second-best time is today. In Britain, the second-best time to begin is after three preliminary reports, two judicial reviews and a general election. The best time is never.

London is caught in a crime wave, and Sadiq Khan is to blame.

Khan is Police and Crime Commissioner for the nation's capital. He bears ultimate responsibility for the breakdown of law and order

So many violent crimes occur on London’s streets now that we have almost become desensitised to it. Yet the brutal, inhuman killing of Thomas O’Halloran, a 87-year-old grandfather stabbed to death on his mobility scooter in Greenford, has shocked us all. It is a truly monstrous crime that defies explanation. This was a vulnerable man, well liked in his local community, who would play music outside Greenford station to raise money for charity. His family and friends will be devastated, and our thoughts are with them.

But the sad reality is that London is caught in a crime wave. People are getting stabbed in broad daylight in busy, public areas. Last week we saw a large mob descend on Oxford Street on a Friday afternoon, looting shops and attacking police officers. Criminals have become emboldened. There is a growing sense that Britain’s capital has become a Wild West, that people can do whatever they please, and that the police will not do anything to stop them.

Police officers on the frontline are as frustrated and angry about this as the rest of us, and they are not the ones to blame. This has been a failure of leadership, and it has been going on for a long time.

Indeed, it can sometimes be easy to forget that the Mayor of London is our city’s Police and Crime Commissioner. This means it is Sadiq Khan’s job to oversee the Met Police and ensure it is working effectively. Under his leadership, the Met Police has become dysfunctional, placed into “special measures” for the first time in its history, and is facing a serious loss of public confidence.

Rather than addressing these issues, Sadiq Khan has played cynical political games to avoid taking responsibility for the Met’s failings, and to claim credit where it is not due. He has sniped from the sidelines, acting more like a media commentator, not the person whose job it is to sort the problem out. We saw this recently when he made a public spectacle of his dispute with the former Commissioner Cressida Dick, irreparably damaging his relationship with the police.

Meanwhile, there has been an epidemic of murdered and incarcerated black Londoners under his watch who are disproportionately affected by rising crime. The Mayor struggled to even express regret for this when I questioned him last month, nor would he accept his own failure to deal with the problem.

Last week, he blamed the recent crime wave on the rising cost of living. This week, it's the weather and school holidays. No matter what it is, he will always find someone else to blame. But in the real world, those who observe will find that Sadiq Khan has always been soft on crime. It is his reluctance to support stop-and-search that has been particularly concerning to me.

The weapon that was used to stab Mr O’Halloran is one of many thousands of knives that are carried on London’s streets. Stop and search is a vital tool for removing them, and acts as a deterrent to carrying weapons in the first place. But it can only work properly with strong political support.

When he first ran for office, Sadiq Khan said: “I’ll do everything in my power to cut stop and search.” During his first term, stop and search rates dropped significantly to around 10,000 per month. When violent crime immediately started to increase, he was forced to do a partial U-turn. And yet he continues to fail to get stop and search rates back to the levels they should be, or to give the police the confidence to use this tactic more consistently.

When criminals can carry weapons on our streets safe in the knowledge that it is unlikely they will be stopped and searched, it is Londoners that face the consequences.

Sadiq Khan’s response to the horrific killing this week has been to send his thoughts and prayers. But Londoners need a lot more than this. They need a police force that is working for them, they need weapons taken off of our streets, and for criminals to face justice for their actions.

Until the Mayor steps up and takes responsibility, I fear that crimes like this will become a more regular occurrence.
London is ( niet meer) the place to be

En Birmingham ook niet. FIMPJE. "Allah!" + mes in het geïslamiseerde Birmingham.

Verhoudingsgewijs wonen vele oudjes in vochtige tochtige ongeïsoleerde arbeiderswoningen 'cottages'.

‘Let’s clean them from Leicester as we did from Kashmir’: Hindu families leaving amid threat messages from Islamists

On September 21 (local time), Charlotte Littlewood, a research fellow at Henry Jackson Society who has been following anti-Hindu attacks in Leicester and Birmingham, revealed that there were threatening messages from Islamists suggesting they wanted to ‘clean’ Hindus from Leicester just like they ‘did from Kashmir.’ The shocking revelation was made during an interview with GB News.

Charlotte said during her on-ground research, she found that the tension between the Hindu and Muslim communities had been brewing for months in Leicester, and according to her, it was more of a territorial dispute rather than political. The tension resulted in attacks on the Hindus who were displaying Hindu symbols in their cars and homes. “I have now knowledge of six, potentially nine [Hindu] families left the area because of the violence,” she added. Some of the families have returned, but they were reportedly hiding the Hindu symbols.

‘No hard evidence of so-called ‘Hindutva nationalism’

When asked if the tension was related to politics in India and that might be offensive to some people of Pakistani heritage, why protests were erupting in Britain, Charlotte said she could not find any hard evidence of ‘Hindutva nationalism’ being the reason for the violence. She said, “From my discussions on the ground, I am finding it really hard to get hard evidence that this is Hindutva nationalism. In fact, it is looking more and more a territorial dispute particular to Leicester.”

She further added that the attack on the Hindu temple in Birmingham was linked to the visit of Hindu leader Sadhvi Ritambhara, which was cancelled. She claimed that when she spoke to the temple authorities, they mentioned that they had cancelled the event after learning about the “problematic past” of Sadhvi. However, when OpIndia spoke to the head office of Sadhvi Ritambhara’s organization, they told us that the events were postponed owing to her poor health.

Calls were made to Muslims to mob up

Charlotte said, “When only 30 [Islamists] gathered on the streets of Leicester, there was a call for more brothers. We saw it go from 30 to 200. Half of them were from outside Leicester. Now we are aware of an Instagram account and various private social media accounts with thousands of followers in which there calls to ‘chop up Hindu community,’ ‘clean them from Leicester as we did from Kashmir,’ ‘put those dogs down.”

She called it ‘a very sickening afternoon’ while she went through the social media posts. “It was an absolutely organized gang of Islamists that are being fronted by what I would call extreme Islamist influencers with half a million plus followers on YouTube who have been calling for people to come to Leicester and Birmingham,” she said.

Charlotte said the next target of these Islamists appeared to be the Indian High Commission in London.

Attacks on Hindus in Leicester and Birmingham

The Hindu community in the UK, particularly in Leicester and Birmingham, is under attack by the Islamists. What initially appeared to be a clash between the two communities following the T20 match between India and Pakistan, where the latter lost, turned out to be a well-planned and well-organized attack on Hindus, their homes, businesses, and properties in Leicester. Several arrests were made by the Police following the attack on Hindus in the city.

Later, calls were made by the “Islamist influencers” to gather in Birmingham to circle a Hindu temple to mark a “peaceful protest” against an event where Sadhvi Ritambhara was scheduled to appear. Despite the event being postponed a week before the scheduled date, the Islamists circled the Hindu temple, hurled abuses, and threatened to attack Hindus if they were followers of BJP and RSS.

Een geschiedenisles.
Leicester: Why the violent unrest was surprising to many

For decades, Leicester had a reputation as a model for cohesion - but the recent unprecedented unrest between groups of Hindu and Muslim men has raised difficult questions for a place that prided itself on its multiculturalism.

In the 1951 census, just 624 people with South Asian heritage were recorded as living in Leicester. Now, 70 years on, the city has one of the highest proportions of British South Asians.

The journey of the early post-war arrivals from the Indian subcontinent to the East Midlands can be traced back to two moments that took place a few years before that census.

Firstly, there was the 1947 partition of British India into two independent dominions - India and Pakistan - which saw the eruption of deadly religious violence, and left between 10-12 million people displaced. And then, there was the 1948 British Nationality Act - which gave every Commonwealth citizen the right to move to the UK.

Many people, whose lives had been disrupted by partition, heeded calls from their former colonial ruler to help rebuild the UK and start new lives.

From the 1950s, Indians and Pakistanis came to Leicester through so-called chain migration - via previous family members or villagers who were already settled in the city. Leicester was attractive - it was prosperous and had jobs available at employers like Dunlop, Imperial Typewriters, and the large hosiery mills.

There have been outbreaks of diphtheria and scabies at Manston – and the Guardian reported there was a case of MRSA. Staff are also reporting outbreaks of violence amid tensions over the conditions.

Andy Baxter, assistant general secretary of the POA, said Manston has unfolded as a 'humanitarian crisis on British soil', with 'pressure cooker' conditions building.

There have also been outbreaks of violence at the facility, whistleblowers from the camp told the Daily Mail over the weekend.

Fights have broken out between Albanians and Eritreans using sharpened combs from their Home Office washbags as weapons,' the source said.

'A small Army detachment is inside to help keep order. We have been told riot police are on standby to enter if the migrants kick off in the next few days. It is a tinderbox.

'Migrants have attacked Border Force officials and security staff, who are scared and outnumbered.'
